URL QR codes

Print once. Change the destination any time.

A TurtleQR URL code encodes a short link, not the raw address. Redirect it to a new page, a seasonal campaign, or a different site altogether. No new QR, no reprint.

Free. No credit card. Dynamic codes on Pro at $9 per month.

What a URL QR code does

A URL QR code opens a website when scanned. TurtleQR's version encodes a short redirect link, which means the destination is stored in your dashboard, not baked into the QR. Change the target URL whenever you want, from whatever campaign drove the print run to wherever the traffic should go now. The physical QR never changes.

Where people use them

Product packaging

Point to a product page on launch, a support article after a recall, or a review prompt after the product ships. The box does not change. The destination does.

Print advertising

Magazine spreads, billboards, and event banners have long lead times. A dynamic URL QR survives the gap between print-file submission and the campaign the ad is supposed to support.

Name badges and lanyards

Conference attendees scan your badge. It goes to your latest portfolio, LinkedIn, or pitch deck, whichever is most relevant to the event you happen to be at that week.

Table cards and menus

A URL QR on the table can route to the specials page, a reservation form, or a loyalty app. Update the destination from the dashboard instead of replacing every card.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter your destination URL

Paste the full web address. Product page, landing page, file download, YouTube video: anything with a URL works.

  2. 2

    Customize and download

Add your logo, pick a color, choose a frame label. Download SVG or EPS for print, PNG for digital. The QR encodes a short TurtleQR link, not the raw URL, so it stays compact regardless of how long the destination is.

  3. 3

    Update the destination any time

Log in, open the code, change the URL. The QR you already printed keeps working. Scan analytics show you when and where it was scanned, so you know if the print run was worth it.

What you get with TurtleQR

  • Edit destination later, no reprint. Change where the QR redirects from your dashboard. The printed code never changes.
  • Scan analytics. See total scans, unique devices, and scan-over-time charts. Know whether that print run paid off.
  • Logo in the center. Auto-elevated error correction keeps it scannable even with up to 18% of the center covered.
  • Print-ready files. SVG and EPS scale to billboard size without artifacts. PNG up to 2048px. JPG if your print shop needs it.
  • Codes that don't go dark. Even if you cancel, free-tier codes redirect to a fallback you choose rather than showing a 404.

FAQ

Can I change where the QR code points after printing?

Yes. URL QR codes on TurtleQR are dynamic. The QR encodes a short link, and you control where that link redirects. Log in, open the code in your dashboard, update the URL. The physical QR you printed keeps working with the new destination.

What happens to my codes if I cancel my subscription?

Free-tier codes stay active. If you downgrade from Pro to free, codes above the free-tier limit redirect to a fallback page rather than 404ing. The QR never goes completely dark. This is the central promise of TurtleQR.

Does a long URL affect scan speed or QR complexity?

No. The QR encodes a short TurtleQR link (typically under 30 characters) regardless of how long your destination URL is. A compact short link means a simpler, faster-scanning QR even at small print sizes.

Can I track how many times a code was scanned?

Yes, on Pro. The analytics dashboard shows total scans, unique devices, and a time-series chart. Free tier shows lifetime scan count only.

Is there a free tier for URL QR codes?

Yes. The free tier includes URL codes with basic scan counting. Dynamic destination editing and full scan analytics are Pro features at $9 per month. Static URL codes (no redirect) are always free.
