What is new in TurtleQR.
A running log of user-visible changes. The most recent updates are listed first.
Dashboard header fits on mobile
The top bar overflowed on phones, pushing the help and account controls off-screen. The search bar now collapses to a compact icon button on small screens, and padding tightens, so the full header fits on any modern phone without horizontal scroll.
TurtleQR brand mark is larger and easier to read
The "TurtleQR.com" text under your code was too small to read comfortably. It is now larger and bolder on both square and circle styles, so printed codes carry a clearer brand attribution.
Center logos no longer show a white ring
When you uploaded a center logo, a white circular backing larger than the image created a visible ring around it. The backing now blends into the code background, so logos sit cleanly in the center.
Low-contrast scan warning on the free generator
If your chosen colors produce a code that may not scan reliably, the free generator now shows a warning so you can adjust before downloading.
Custom background colors now apply to all code styles
Choosing a background color had no effect on circle and square codes because the renderer ignored it. Both styles now use your chosen background.
Circle codes stay disguised when a call-to-action frame is on
A circle code with a CTA frame was showing a plain QR floating in white space instead of the organic dot field. Circle codes now keep the disguise pattern behind the frame band.
Square codes are now clean and maximized
Square codes now render as a clean, maximized QR in a thin brand border, with the QR filling as much of the canvas as possible. The previous scattered-dot style is now exclusive to the circle shape.
Frame wrapping text on the free generator
You can now add top and bottom rim text to your code on the free generator, so the call-to-action frame can carry a message like "SCAN ME" or your custom tagline.
Free generator: always-live preview, center logo, and expanded color palette
The free generator now shows a live QR preview as you type (with a sample code when the input is empty), lets you upload a center logo, and offers 16 color swatches plus a custom color picker.
Guides hub: plain how-to guides for every stage
A new Guides section on the marketing site covers how to make a QR code, static vs dynamic codes, editing after printing, print sizing, scan tracking, and what happens when you stop paying.
Use-case pages for restaurants, retail, real estate, events, and nonprofits
Five new industry pages explain where TurtleQR fits in each context and what the longevity guarantees mean for printed assets in that setting.
Conversion tracking
You can now record goal completions (purchases, sign-ups, any outcome) against a code via the API, and view conversion counts and revenue totals in the analytics dashboard.
UTM parameters on URL codes
URL codes can carry a UTM configuration. The redirect automatically appends the parameters to every scan destination, so every click lands in your analytics tool correctly attributed.
TypeScript and Python SDKs
Official SDKs for TypeScript and Python cover code creation, analytics, conversions, and webhooks. Both are zero-dependency and available on npm and PyPI.
Seven dot styles for the circle disguise
The dot picker for circle codes grew from two options to seven: Squares, Dots, Bars, Diamonds, Triangles, Stars, and Hearts. Squares scan most reliably; the others are best for phone-camera scanning.
Any brand color stays scannable automatically
You can now pick any foreground color and the code adjusts the contrast automatically, so you never need to check whether your brand color scans. Colors that already meet the contrast floor are left exactly as chosen.
Call-to-action frame band with rim text
You can add a solid band with curved top and bottom text to any code from the style editor. The frame is free on all plans.
Downloaded PNG and JPG match the on-screen preview exactly
Downloaded images now come from the same renderer as the dashboard preview, so the curved brand text, circle shape, and colors in your download are pixel-identical to what you see on screen.
Mobile bottom navigation bar
The dashboard now has a fixed bottom tab bar on mobile: Home, Assets, a raised Create button, Analytics, and More, so every key action is reachable with one thumb.
New code creation page
The create flow is now a single surface with all 23 code types, a live branded QR preview, an auto-design tool, and a one-click create and download action.
Circular QR codes with TurtleQR branding by default
New codes default to the organic circular design with TurtleQR branding. You can switch to square at any time. Paid plans can remove the branding for a clean, mark-free code.
